I loved every word from the opening sentence to the satisfying epilogue. Deuker hits all the bases with a really endearing team of characters, s suspenseful nail-biting plot, and a richly depicted setting. But it isn’t just the baseball that is so compelling in this book. The sports descriptions in this wonderful story are truly outstanding and Deuker had me forgetting I wasn’t watching actual games with a talented young player developing his skill and control.
